Nothing deserves that kind of cruelty in general. We live in a world where people feel safe to be mean by hiding behind computer and phone screens, and this seeps into everyday life. That kitten they discarded was a living, breathing thing. They could have just as easily taken it to a shelter, or posted on Facebook to find it a foster home, but they chose the worst way out pawssible. People today are too comfortable with hurting others because they feel they can get away with it.

This is one of the reasons we chose not to go to vet school - as much as we love animals (and we love animals), we couldn't handle the human side of it. The fact that most of your job is dealing with people mistreating their animals, or doing your best to help animals in need, but only being able to do so much. If you can handle that burden, more power to you; we simply don't have the strength.
